Merlin.net™ Patient Care Network (PCN) is a remote monitoring system that imports and manages cardiac information for patients with Abbott implanted devices. The system allows you and other clinicians to upload and manage patient device data via a web interface. All you need is an Internet connection and a compatible browser.

We are always looking for ways to continue to strengthen our stringent security control measures. Merlin.net has been awarded the strict worldwide information security standard ISO 27001 certification. We have received a Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type II report to support our Cybersecurity goals. This report independently validates multiple layers of internal security control to protect patient data* for the Merlin.net Patient Care Network.

The SOC 2 Type II report, prepared by a global audit firm, concludes that the controls we have implemented are effectively designed. Indicates that these controls are operating in accordance with the Security, Availability, and Privacy principles of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) in accordance with the trust service principles.

Along with our ISO 27001 certification, two-factor authentication, two-step login and Safe Harbor standards, the SOC 2 report reinforces our leadership in cybersecurity and our commitment to patient safety.

Efficient Remote Maintenance Management

The Merlin@home™ transmitter enables effective remote care management of patients with implanted cardiac devices through scheduled transmissions and daily alert monitoring. You can supplement or replace in-clinic visits with remote patient transmissions.

Ease of Use

The transmitter is easy to set up and use. Patients need a power outlet and fixed telephone line, cellular adapter or broadband service. Simply plug the transmitter near where they sleep and the RF transmitter will automatically monitor their device while they sleep.

When device data is read, the Merlin@home transmitter automatically transmits the information to the secure Abbott website, Merlin.net™ Patient Care Network (PCN), where you can view it.

Providing patients with a Merlin@home transmitter allows you to take advantage of some of the more advanced features of Merlin.net PCN, such as:

DirectAlerts™ notification that can alert you when an episode or event occurs that you want to be notified about remote monitoring or remote monitoring

Better remote patient monitoring compatibility through automatic upload of data with RF devices and transmitters
Pairing the transmitter with the patient device at any time; remote monitoring can be enabled as early as the day of implant
